Loizza Aquino is a mental health advocate and motivational speaker, passionate about mental health, gender equality, youth empowerment and women’s empowerment. She founded a youth-led non-profit organization, Peace of Mind Canada, after losing a friend to suicide. Loizza has spoken at educational institutions and community events around the world, in cities such as Toronto, Boston, London and Manilla. She has also facilitated workshops with the support of the World Alliance of YMCAs, for youth in North and South America, and Africa.
Loizza received an Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Health Sciences from the University of Toronto in 2021, with a double major in International Development and Mental Health, a minor in Media Studies and a certificate in Global Development, Environment & Health. Loizza strives to empower other youth across the globe by sharing her story and has embodied the sentiment that young people are the leaders of today, since her activism journey began at the age of nine.
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Loizza led a virtual mental wellness workshop with Student Life Network in partnership with CIBC, for over 500 students from around the country.
