Let’s talk about
mental health.
About Loizza
Loizza Aquino is a mental health advocate and motivational speaker dedicated to promoting mental wellness, gender equality, and youth and women’s empowerment. She founded a youth-led non-profit organization after losing a friend to suicide, which operated until 2021. That same year, Loizza earned her Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, completing a double major in International Development and Mental Health, a minor in Media Studies, and a certificate in Global Development, Environment & Health.
Since then, Loizza has shared her message on stages around the world, speaking at schools, universities, and community events in cities such as Toronto, Boston, London, and Manila. She has also facilitated workshops for youth across North and South America and Africa, in partnership with the World Alliance of YMCAs.
Beginning her activism journey at the age of nine, Loizza has always believed that young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow—they are the leaders of today. Her passion for advocacy continued through the COVID-19 pandemic, when she led a national virtual mental wellness workshop with Student Life Network and CIBC, reaching over 500 students across Canada.
